I have a mixed feeling about it too: ultimately the market would win but in the current context, this might not be the best instance. So I suspect the leftists would want to setup like free Wifi connection, but like with everything „free“ means that you are the product, it would obviously be used to spy on people. While private ISP must have some legal justification for spying on people, a public utility would be exempt from this accoding to many researchers who have analyzed this.So it would look like with the NN regulation you get easier access to internet, even for free, but at the cost of your privacy. And the government would have total control over it.Now then there is that privacy law that was repealed, interestingly every leftist at /r/privacy is blaming corporations for spying. They are right, they are accomplices, but it the government that is running the programs. So I have mixed feelings on one hand it well known that corporate oligopolies are bad both for privacy and for neutrality, but then replacing that with a monopoly is just plain absurd.Pretty much repealing NN is good, but only slightly better than keeping it.
